MERIT school of music, located just west of the loop, is a music conservatory for youths in Chicago. The new addition of a concert hall and rehearsal spaces aim to provide better visibility between the interior and the context of the neighborhood. The vineyard-shaped concert hall provides a sense of intimacy between young musicians and the audience, while the architectural expression serves as an identity within the neighborhood.
