In the Summer of 2014, Asheville Design Center partnered with the YWCA of Asheville to build an outdoor classroom and stair canopy for children taking part in their after-school and summer camp programs. After a series of site analysis and community charrettes, we made proposal for improved traffic circulation, in addition to designing and building a series of cantilevered roof structures to lead children, parents, and faculty up and into the building.
